GUIDED SURGERY

Nowadays this is the most advanced and modern technique in implantology. To be able to do this, the highest radiological computer and surgical technology must come together, giving as a result a reliable, precise and safe procedure. The Center for Implantology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CICOM, in Spanish) in its mission to provide to its patients the most modern technology and be at the forefront of implantology and oral surgery, is one of the clinics in Spain that offer this service nowadays.

PROCESS

  • After the first medical examination and the making of a dental scan prosthesis, the patient must have an scanner.

  • The scanner data is introduced in out computer where we analyze the case, the ideal position of the implants and having in mind the quantity and quality of existing bone exactly where we want to put the implant, we virtually place it with a computer program.

  • This information is e-mailed to Switzerland where a high precision surgical guide is made, through which we are able to place the implants exactly in the same position as we had planned in the computer, that way it’s not necessary to lift the gum or give stiches.

  • This technique allows as a millimetric exactitude in the position of the implants, optimizing to the maximum the best areas of bone.

By previously study the best position, the quantity and quality of the bone in the computer, we can achieve a higher surgical precision. By not having to use an scalpel to lift the gum and not having to give stiches, the surgery time reduces greatly, especially in cases of a lot of implants, which also reduces the post-operatives discomforts. By knowing the exact position in which we are going to place the implants, we can have an immediate fixed provisional prosthesis for over the implants ready.
